On many trips, carriers can increase profitability by breaking the leg of their trip into two shorter legs that pay more than the direct route. RateView includes information on potential intermediate cities to break direct routes and create more profitable triangles (TriHaul Routes).
RateView suggests an intermediate stop and the per mile rate for a trip that would include taking a load to the intermediate city and picking up a new load in the intermediate city to complete the route. Recommendations for intermediate stops are based on an algorithm that takes into account rates, mileage for each leg, the number of loads posted on each of the available legs in the last 30 days, and the number of trucks posted in the intermediate city's market area in the last 30 days.
