2. Product Migration Details

Our long-term goal is simple: consolidate all rate lookup and benchmarking capabilities into the DAT iQ platform. delivering a more streamlined, scalable, and improved experience for enterprise shippers:

  • One powerful platform instead of fragmented tools
  • A more intuitive UI and faster access to actionable insights
  • Enhanced data coverage and consistent, clear methodology

We're committed to building full feature parity before removing any tools you rely on today — which means the migration is happening in intentional phases, not all at once.

Here's what that means in practice:

  • Legacy RateView users have already moved or are in the process of moving to iQ RateView
  • Benchmark Analytics Portal (FMIC) users are migrating model-by-model as iQ RateView builds equivalent or better functionality
  • Two models — Long Haul Dry Van and Intermodal — remain on FMIC until cross-border Mexico rate capability is available in iQ RateView
  • The FMIC portal will be fully sunset once all models have a capable replacement in iQ
Why a phased approach? We're not moving customers off tools they depend on until we're confident iQ RateView meets or exceeds what you're getting today. The two models staying on FMIC are proof of that commitment — we identified a capability gap and chose to wait rather than force a migration.

3. Migration Timeline & Milestones

The legacy RateView → DAT iQ RateView migration has been completed, and we are still in the midst of the Benchmark migration.

4. iQ Benchmark Migration

Smarter tools. Deeper insights. One powerful platform.

We’re upgrading your experience by migrating Benchmark rate lookup tools from FMIC to the DAT iQ platform. This change unlocks faster workflows, sharper market visibility, and a centralized home for historical, current, and forecasted rates—all in one place.

What’s changing:

  • FMIC estimators are being replaced with iQ RateView’s single- and multi-lane lookup tools – plus you’re getting access to the new Shipper Spot Rate in RateView.
  • Multi-lane and single rate lookup tools, dashboards, and performance BI reports now live in one platform – one login, one screen, one source for reliable insights.

Why this migration benefits you:

  • More precise, fresher rates — 3-digit ZIP code level lookups and 3-day rolling averages for sharper, more current lane analysis
  • More data behind every rate — 30% more data representing broker spot, shipper spot, and shipper contract rates, providing a more comprehensive, representative view of the market
  • Real-time market context — Continuous rate refreshes, day-level filters, and Market Conditions Index (MCI) access in one place
  • One unified platform, unlimited access — Single sign-on, historical and forecasted rates, performance reporting, and no limits on lookups or users

Why we're making this change:

To give you:

  • Better outcomes, faster
  • More reliable, actionable insights
  • A modern, scalable experience that evolves with your needs

You’ll still get the insights you trust—just faster, easier to use, and ready for what’s next.

5. RateView Platform Migration

Unlock a smarter, faster, and more unified experience.

What’s Changed:

We’ migrated all legacy RateView users to the new DAT iQ platform interface, consolidating our rating tools into a modern, centralized platform.

6. FAQs

Q: Is this really an upgrade or just another migration?
 A:
It's an upgrade — but we understand the skepticism if previous changes haven't fully served your needs. Here's the honest answer: for the five models moving to iQ RateView, you're getting meaningfully better data precision, more contribution data, real-time updates, and no usage limits. For the two models staying on FMIC (Long Haul Dry Van and Intermodal), we're keeping them where they are until iQ can match what you're getting today.

Q: Why are only some models moving? What about Long Haul Dry Van and Intermodal?
A: Those two models generate cross-border Mexico rates, which iQ RateView doesn't yet support. We're not moving them until we've built a capable replacement. When that's ready, we'll communicate the timeline well in advance.

Q: Will this cost more?
 A:
No — your pricing will stay the same. You’ll get more value at no extra cost, including new features like enhanced multi-lane lookup and easier-to-use dashboards.

Q: Do I have to migrate if I prefer the FMIC Portal?

A: Yes, for the models listed above, since they will be sunset as we consolidate tools into a single platform. But iQ is built to be easier and faster. Most users find the experience better once they’re in, and we’ll guide you every step of the way.

Q: How do I access the new tools?

A: Go to iq.dat.com. Use the left-hand menu to access RateView (single lane) or RateView Multi-Lane (batch lookup). Need help? Visit the Support Center or contact your Account Manager.

Q: Why is Benchmark moving into RateView? Aren’t they separate tools?

A: We’re unifying the experience. RateView and Benchmark used to live in separate systems — now the functionality of both tools are accessible within the DAT iQ platform.

Q: Do I still need both Benchmark and RateView?
 A:
Yes — they do different things.

  • RateView = Real-time market visibility for pricing and planning
  • Benchmark = Strategic analytics for optimization and reporting

Together, they give you full coverage from daily rate checks to executive strategy.

Q: Will I need new training?
 A:
Possibly — but we’ve made it easy. Find quick-start guides in the Support Center or reach out to your AM for team training.

Q: What if I need more than 13 months of rate history?
 A:
The iQ platform includes a 13-month view — enough for most procurement and trend use cases. If your team needs longer lookbacks for modeling, we can support that via iQ Benchmark dashboards or DAT Analytics Services (DAS).

Q: Why do Benchmark and RateView show different rates?
 A:

  • RateView shows actual market averages based on load data.
  • Benchmark uses a modeled rate to estimate what should be paid, even with limited data.

Use RateView for market tracking and Benchmark for strategic pricing and reporting.
